Who we are?
Digital Hub Varna (DHV) is an in-house IT hub of Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of building materials, having the vision of becoming the first industrial technology company in the sector.
The center was founded in the beginning of the year 2013 by the name of "IT Competence Center" after 2018 „Global IT Center“ with only two developers which were .NET oriented.
An internal team of programmers was formed which served internal projects on a group level in the .NET and SharePoint area.
The first project LIM - finance-reporting tool for CaPEx approvals and full support of the entire SharePoint intranet with all of its apps and some new ones as well. After that came a lot of new projects of a different nature, the thing that connected them was that they were group projects that were very important for the company, key to some of the major processes in production.
Couple of years went by and the team started to grow little by little and until 2017 there were about 6-7 people. In 2018 AOM started with a completely new technology going by java and some other key projects like (SQL, integration services).
By the end of 2018 the team moved to Varna with as SAP Consultants from way before were also included in the new "big" team.
After 2018 came a big boom in hiring new workers, taking over new projects and drastically increasing the number of workers to nearly 55. Engineering team currently employs more than 20 Software Engineers, 6 RPA Engineers, QA Engineers, Application Analysts, Senior Technical Product Owners.
Additionally, the Consulting & Deployment professionals solely orient to customer consultations on finding and deploying the best products & services while Engineering team, made up of IT technical backbone experts, transforms the innovative ideas into consumable outputs.
